Armanjakk is one of the oldest Eau-de-vies in France, the first references have been found as early as the 13th century. Since 1936, the region has had the AOC national label, which protects a product with a place of origin and a specific method of production. The entire Armagnac area is divided into three regions: Bas-Armagnac, Armagnac-Ténarèze, Haut-Armagnac. Saint-Christeau Armagnac comes from the Haut-Armagnac region, from the noble estate of Esquerre-Bounoure. According to tradition, Saint-Christeau Armagnac is also made from four grape varieties: Colombard, St. Emilton, Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche. The crop is harvested before mid-October, distilled in winter using the Armagnac method and matured in large French black oak barrels. Due to the traditional production methods, Armagnacs are often very surprising and rich. For example, 1985 is very fresh, sweet, honeyed and fruity, with a floral aftertaste, while 1982 is deep golden in color, richly fruity, with a long and dry aftertaste. Vintage 1999 is a love jacket with a beautiful color. Aromas of apple, grassiness and freshness. Well balanced taste.
