Tierra Alta En 2 Cotas grapes come from low-yielding vines over 50 years old, located at one of the highest points in the Ribera Del Duero region, more than 840m above sea level. The grapes are picked by hand in small boxes that hold 14 kg of berries at a time. Fermentation takes place for 8 days at a temperature of 23-28 degrees, followed by 10 days of maceration. After that, the wine is left to mature in oak barrels of different origins for 30 months. Before going on sale, the wine matures in bottles for another 18 months. The wine has a vivid garnet red color. The aroma is set by ripe red berries, coffee, tobacco and woody notes. The wine has a powerful taste, with strong tannins and a long aftertaste of dark cherries and wild berries.
