One of the oldest wine producers in South Africa, it is owned by the Enthoven family, who bought the land in 1993. In the aroma, the wine is spicy berry and dense, you can feel overripe dark stone fruits, black pepper with dried smoked plums. Dried herbs, dried tobacco leaf and bitter chocolate are added to the end of the aroma. The taste is full, powerful and spicy berry, you can feel dark stone fruits, morels and ripe field berries with a structural slightly smoky spiciness, the aftertaste is evenly long, adding sweet spices and roasted coffee beans. The grapes are handpicked from the Darling and Stellenbosch regions along False Bay. The wine ferments in stainless steel barrels and develops for 12 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new barrels and ages for an additional 6 months in the bottle.
