Finca Montico Verdejo Sobre Lías is made from Verdejo grapes grown on the stony and calcareous soil of the Duero River Valley. Since 2018, all Marqués de Riscal vineyards have been certified organic and the wine is made with minimal intervention to bring out the pure nature of the grape and the character of the terroir. The wine matures on fine sediments (sobre lías) in stainless steel tanks and partially in French oak barrels, which makes the wine richer and fuller. This ripening, combined with moderate acidity, gives the wine a long shelf life, maintaining freshness and aromatic diversity up to 24-30 months after harvest. The color of the wine is greenish yellow. The nuances characteristic of the Verdejo variety are expressed in the aroma - fennel, herbs, white flowers, pear and peach. The taste is fresh, round and velvety, with fine acidity, a long and harmonious aftertaste. Finca Montico Verdejo Sobre Lías is not an overflowingly aromatic wine, but an elegant and complex interpretation of the Verdejo grape. Contains sulfites.
