István Szepsy Sr. is one of the most well-known winemakers in the Tokaji region, known locally as the "King of Azsu". Szent Tamás Winery was founded in 2009 and is run by Szepsy István Jr., who is the 18th generation of winemakers in the Tokaij region. The winery owns 15 ha of vineyards on the volcanic slopes of Mount Tokaj. The color is light yellow with a greenish undertone. The aroma is elegant and fresh, you can feel light stone fruits, fresh herbs, green gooseberries and milk nettle, the end of the aroma is citrusy fresh. The taste is light and freshly acidic, you can feel green apple, fresh citrus, rhubarb, and bitter fresh herbs. Aftertaste citrusy lively and fruity fresh. The berries are picked from the vineyards of Màd village in the Helgaya region of Tokaji, the wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels at 18 oC degrees and is not aged in oak barrels.
