
The town of Mailberg is located in the northern part of the Weinviertel, northwest of Hollabrunn, close to the Czech border. The first mention of Mailberg in an official document dates back to 1055. In 1969, the vineyards of Mailberg were leased by the Order of Malta to Lenz Moser III. The family company Lenz Moser has been operating since 1849 and is one of the most famous Austrian wine producers in the world. The Lenz Moser winery was established in 1849. In 1928, Lenz Moser III developed a method of tying vines to support wires, in 1984. the screw cap was first introduced in Austria, cold fermentation for white wines was introduced in 1997. Veinimaja owns 50ha of land in the Malteser Ritterorden areas, where the premium wines of the winery are made from single vineyard vines. In 1969, the Order of Mailberg, Malta leased the vineyards to Lenz Moser III. For decades, the vineyards of the Order of Malta have been cultivated according to ecological principles. The grape gardens are arranged in concave plots that provide sufficient protection from the sun and cold winds.
