The uncrowned "King of Beaujolais" Georges Duboeuf was a Pouilly-Fuissé-born berry grower and winemaker and later wine merchant who became world famous as a wine producer in the Beaujolais region. Les Vins Georges Duboeuf is still a family business and is run today by Georges Duboeuf's grandson, Adrien Duboeuf-Lacombe. Pale yellow in color with a greenish tint. The aroma is more intense than average, slightly creamy and fruity fresh. Ripe citrus fruits, yellow apples and bright stone fruits with baker's spices. In the background, a little creamy vanilla pastry with white flowers. The taste is dry, medium-bodied and fruity structured. Ripe yellow apples, slightly raw hazelnuts and bitter citrus with a mouth-drying minerality. The medium length aftertaste is stimulated by yellow stone fruits and fresh citrus fruits. The grapes come from 225-400 m. above sea level from the limestone soil vineyards of the Mâconnais villages: Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintré. The wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and matures for 8 months in new and old small French oak barrels.
