
Medium intensity ruby red in colour The aroma shows ripe red berries, dark stone fruits, ripe red cherries, blueberries and wild berries with a light tannic herbal spiciness. The taste is dry, medium-bodied and berry lively. You can feel dark stone fruits, red cherries, blueberries, wild berries with oregano and pungent spicy tannins. The aftertaste is fruity and berry, with slightly bitter coffee beans and sweet spices. The wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and develops in large oak barrels for 6 to 8 months. One of the oldest and most famous wine estates in Piedmont. Founded by King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy in Serralunga d´Alba in 1858. The king's son, Count Emanuele Alberto Guerrieri of Mirafori, started making more serious wine in 1878. Vineyards today total 100ha. Today, the winery is owned by the Farinetti family.
