
The Couvent des Jacobins winery was founded on one of the highest peaks of Saint-Émilion in 1389 by the Dominican brothers, the "Jacobins Brothers", offering shelter to pilgrims traveling from France to Spain. Since 1902, the winery has been owned by the Jean and Jonaud families, and in 1969. the winery received the Grand Cru Classé designation (INAO). The size of the wine estate is 10.7 hectares.
