Vineyards since 1344, the estate owns 95ha of vineyards in the Chateauneuf du Pape region, plus gardens in the Cotes du Rhone and Lirac. Deep, intense ruby red in color. The aroma is velvety berry and round, with hints of dark berries and black pepper, with bitter tannic herbalism at the end of the aroma. The taste is full and dense, at the same time well balanced with berry spicy-silky tannins. Ripe dark forest berries - blueberries, blackberries and black cherries with crushed black pepper and structural tannins. The aftertaste is long and complex, dominated by lively spiciness with ripe black berries. The grapes are hand-picked from the Le Plateau vineyard, planted in 1923, and the wine is aged for 18 months in small French oak barrels and aged for 6 months in the bottle.
