Vines have been growing on the modern estates of Château Mont-Redon since the days of the Roman Empire. In 1344, the garden named "Mourredon" was part of the wine estate belonging to the Pope. In 1923, the estates were bought by Henri Plantin, whose descendants, the Abeille & Fabre families, today take care of the estate in the Châteauneuf du Pape region of 186ha, with about 100ha of vineyards. In 1980, additional vineyards were purchased in the Côtes du Rhône growing area and in 1997 around the village of Lirac. The color is bright yellow with a greenish sheen of medium intensity The aroma is fruity and slightly floral. Feel ripe yellow stone fruits, apples, fresh herbs with ripe tropical fruits complemented by fresh citrus fruits. The taste is medium-bodied and fruity. Feel yellow, apples, ripe light stone fruits, melon, apricots and fresh herbs. The aftertaste is long, slightly creamy, fruity and citrusy with balanced spiciness. The grapes are hand-picked from chalkier fields and fermented in stainless steel barrels, malolactic fermentation is not performed and the wine develops for 3 months in steel barrels on yeast.
