In 1883, Peter Sichel's great-grandfather went to Bordeaux from England to establish a wine buying company there. Sichel is a family company, Sichel's five sons play an important role in ensuring the continuity of the company's goals and strategy. Allan Sichel is now the company's CEO. He is also the vice-president of the Conseil Interprofessionel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB) and the president of the Fédération du Négoce des Vins de Bordeaux.
