Feel overripe black forest berries, field berries, dried dark stone fruits complemented by sweet baker's spices, cloves and cinnamon with bitter chocolate and cedar wood aroma notes. The taste is fuller than average, more intense and berry spicy, reflecting the aroma of the wine. Feel dark overripe wild berries, wild berry jam, black currants and dark stone fruits. The medium-length aftertaste adds baker's spices along with licorice, cocoa and roasted coffee beans. The berries are picked from various Rioja vineyards, the wine is fermented in stainless steel barrels and matures for 24 months in small French and American oak barrels and then matures for 36 months in the bottle. Bodegas Campo Viejo is one of the most famous wineries in the Rioja region today, founded in 1959 by the initiative of two Rioja winemakers, and its name refers to an old field: "campo viejo" - "old field". In 2001, the wine cellar was renovated and modern winemaking technologies were introduced. Bodegas Campo Viejo owns 54ha of vineyards in the Rioja region and cooperates with many Spanish grape growers.
