Boschendal Nicolas is a premium blended wine named after Nicolas de Lanoy, one of the founders of the Boschendal wine estate. It is an elegant Bordeaux-style wine in which 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Shiraz, 22% Merlot, 6% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot form a harmonious whole. In the aroma, red cherries, plums, mulberries and blackcurrants intertwine with dark chocolate, spicy cigar box, cedar and fine oak notes. The palate is rich and multi-layered, offering ripe berry notes, silky tannins and excellent balance. The wine has undergone malolactic fermentation and matured for 14-16 months in French oak barrels, approximately 30% of which are new, giving the wine depth and complexity. The wine has a timeless elegance and a long and enjoyable aftertaste. Fits perfectly today, but will continue to develop in cellar conditions for the next 10 years. Contains sulfites.
