Bruichladdich Black Art 11.1 44.2% is a 24-year-old single malt Scotch whiskey produced by the Bruichladdich Distillery on the Isle of Islay. This is the eleventh edition of the Black Art series and the seventh created by master distiller Adam Hannett. The peculiarity of this whiskey lies in complete secrecy: the exact recipe, the type of barley used and the types of casks are unknown to the public, fully trusting the creative vision of the master. This is Black Art e. black art. Black Art 11.1 is made of so-called of "pre-renaissance" casks dating from before the reopening of Bruichladdich in 2001. This means that the whiskey was distilled before 2001 and matured on the island of Islay for 24 years. Black Art 11.1 is known for its complex and multi-layered flavor profile: Aroma: Dried fruits, leather and a light citrus note open the aroma, followed by a fresh sea breeze. Sweet fruit and floral notes such as poached pear, delicate rose hip syrup, black cherry and sweet mango. The aroma develops further with cedar and soft oak, butterscotch, praline, honey and light cinnamon. Warm oatmeal is balanced with aromas of rose and pear candy.Bruichladdich Taste: Dried fruit, dates, raisins, barley sugar, leather and oak open the palate, followed by butterscotch sweetness, praline and hints of coconut and fresh citrus. Sweet apple and pear join toasty oak, warming wood spice, dark plums and marzipan, opening new depths with every sip. Aftertaste: Oak and dried fruits come to the fore, followed by notes of Christmas cake such as sultanas, figs, marzipan and lingering honey, adding a beautifully rounded finish.
