Planteray Isle of Fiji rum is a blend of classic still and still distillation. Bourbon matured in Fiji for two to three years in cask, plus one year in cognac cask in Cognac, France. The aroma is intense, you can feel caramel and pear. The opening reveals fruity notes such as apple, banana, gooseberry and spice with nutmeg and vanilla, plus a touch of smokiness. The taste is rich and complex. The familiar fruitiness, spiciness and vanilla are transferred from the aroma. Honey, ginger, prunes and a little coconut are added.
