In 2015, Mount Gay acquired the land of the former Mount Gay Estate and Oxford Estate. For the first time since the early 20th century, Mount Gay is now a rum house with fully vertically integrated production, from cane to bottle. Mount Gay Estate breeds its own sugarcane to convey the microclimate and soil of the world's oldest rum house. The Single Estate Series rums are produced exclusively from sugar cane molasses grown on the estate's land in St Lucy, Barbados. Fermented, distilled, oak aged and blended at Mount Gay Distillery, this rum is a unique nectar from our unique Barbados microclimate and soil. Mount Gay Single Estate Series small batch rum is 100% pot still copper still distilled, matured in ex-bourbon whiskey (Quercus Alba) casks. Produced in October 2023, the 23_01_Bn_Qa series is the first Single Estate rum series. A total of 4,002 bottles were produced, which are numbered. Natural color - no added dyes - not cold-filtered. Eco-friendly production: lightweight 700 g bottle, produced from 70% recycled glass, one-material gift box and bottle cap, minimal colors used on the product label, all packaging ingredients are easy to recycle.
