Chateau de Montifaud is a cognac estate owned by the same family for the sixth generation. Cognac is unique thanks to long-standing traditions. The Vallet family produces cognacs only from their own vineyards, in the best Grand Champagne and Petite Champagne gardens. XO Majestic cognac grapes come from the Petite Champagne region, where the Vallet family has been growing grapes since 1837. The unique soil there is rich in limestone and chalk, creating the conditions for creating a proper cognac. The cognac was matured in red oak casks from the Limousin region and later in old French oak casks for a minimum of 6 years, which is required by French law. However, Chateau de Monitfaud cognacs are known for maturing in casks for much longer than is required by law. The palate features Sultana raisins, tropical fruits, vanilla and oaky notes.
