PIPER HEIDSIECK RIVIERA

PIPER HEIDSIECK RIVIERA

The Piper-Heidsieck wine company was founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck. One exceptional champagne was dedicated to Marie-Antoniette, Queen of France, and in honor of this, Florens-Louis Heidsieck was given the opportunity to present his champagnes to the queen, which began the success of Piper-Heidsieck champagnes. Every great story begins with a meeting - Agathe Perthois was a great inspiration for the young German-born Florens-Louis Heidsieck to create a "wine that smiles". Intoxicated with love and driven by a thirst for adventure, nothing could stop the tenacious genius. Florens-Louis Heidsieck founded the champagne house Heidsieck & Cie on July 16, 1785. The desire of the young and ambitious self-made maker was to dazzle Queen Marie Antoniette with the fine and happy bubbles of champagne. The queen fell in love with champagne from the first drop and thus became the first Heidsieck & Cie brand ambassador. In 1815, his nephew Christian Heidsieck and the talented and experienced Henri-Guillaume Piper joined forces to promote the house. The union quickly became inseparable, and together they promoted the reputation of the champagne houses even outside the borders of France. After the death of Florens-Louis Heidsieck in 1828, the mythical duo decided to continue their adventure. In 1835, Christian Heidsieck died suddenly, and three years later his widow married business partner Henri-Guillaume Piper, and thus the PIPER-HEIDSIECK brand was born. With its red label, Piper-Heidsieck is one of the world's most well-known and appreciated champagne brands. It is primarily known thanks to many movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe, whose favorite champagne was Piper-Heidsieck.
