Calvados Boulard was founded in 1825 in Normandy by PierreAuguste Boulard. The skill of distilling has been passed on in the family from generation to generation. Full-bodied, fruity complex Calvados is nut brown in color. The aroma is fruity, dense and honeyed, with hints of dried baked apples with dried orange peel, orange juice, chamomile honey and sweet spices, complemented by nuances of chocolate and roasted hazelnuts. Calvados is richly fruity and silky round on the palate, with notes of baked apples, apple marmalade, roasted hazelnuts, marzipan, chocolate, dried herbs, cloves, cinnamon and vanilla. The aftertaste is long, delicate and harmonious. The estate's top calvados is distilled using the 2 x pot still method from cider made from different apple varieties grown in the Pays d'Auge region and aged for 15-20 years in French Troncais oak barrels. Calvados, refined to the smallest detail, is made in honor of the manor's founder, Pierre Auguste Boulard.
